You may have heard of Mark Manson’s book The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, a popular read these past few years. In a recent conversation, this question came up: “What does not giving a f*ck look like to me?” This image immediately came to mind:
When I was growing up, my aunt went on a pilgrimage with our church to Israel. On the trip was a woman named Jannette. Nearing the age of 90, she may have been short and wrinkled, but she was still as sharp and sassy as ever. When the group visited the Dead Sea, she jumped right in with everyone else.
I will never forget my aunt’s description of Jannette: walking back to the beach, white pubic hair sticking out of her one-piece bathing suit, absolutely beaming with life.
